Jason Rogers, Youth Minister

Welcome! We are so glad you have chosen to visit our youth group web site. We hope that you will have the chance to read a little more about us, and get to know us a little! Please feel free to contact Jason if you have any questions or comments! (Email Jason)

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18

In our youth group we are striving to BE TRANSFORMED by our relationship with the creator of the Universe - God, and by our relationship with His son Jesus Christ. We are constantly working to provide our teens with an environment in which they will witness life changing relationships with God, and in which they can take part in their own life changing relationship with God.

To do this we are intentionally working to keep, within our group, a culture of Godly love and acceptance, where we assist and minister to one another through the struggles of life. We are also working to provide a picture of spiritual maturity, so that we all know what our goal is; and we are seeking to provide quality learning opportunities where teens are encouraged and allowed to experience God in a personal way, to find their spiritual gifts, to practice godly life skills, and to even make some mistakes as they are growing and learning.

It is our hope that we can help you in your spiritual journey

I hope that you will feel free to join us, to see Christ and to be transformed.

Jason's Jargon

My oldest daughter, Bree has been loosing her teeth lately. This past week she lost another tooth so that now she has one permanent tooth in the top front, and really nothing else to keep it company! She lost her latest tooth at school and brought it home in a plastic baggie. She was so excited because the Tooth Fairy always comes and leaves her a whole dollar that she can spend for a small toy or treat. She carefully placed the tooth under her pillow that night, and then it was prayer time. She finished her prayer with “...and please let the tooth fairy leave me FIVE dollars tonight…”

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
1 John 5:14

Sometimes I wish to be young again, to be able to believe that God has a hand in the tooth fairy’s business! The confidence that my little girl had to make that request made me think more deeply about my prayers– 1 John tells me that I can have confidence when I pray. That when I am in tune with the will of God he hears my prayer and gives me the good things I ask for. It can definitely be a struggle to always pray with confidence and faith, but I can be confident that God will give us great blessings when we pray for them– in accordance to His will. I hope that this week we will all step even closer to our God and King, that we will all learn more about the will of God, understand His will a little better, and so have confidence that when we pray He hears us!

Oh, and by the way, for some reason the tooth fairy was feeling quite generous that night and Bree’s prayer was answered. (I hope this isn’t the beginning of a new trend for the tooth fairy– our kids still have a lot of teeth to go through!)

Happy Birthday
