Jason Rogers, Youth Minister

Welcome! We are so glad you have chosen to visit our youth group web site. We hope that you will have the chance to read a little more about us, and get to know us a little! Please feel free to contact Jason if you have any questions or comments! (Email Jason)

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18

In our youth group we are striving to BE TRANSFORMED by our relationship with the creator of the Universe - God, and by our relationship with His son Jesus Christ. We are constantly working to provide our teens with an environment in which they will witness life changing relationships with God, and in which they can take part in their own life changing relationship with God.

To do this we are intentionally working to keep, within our group, a culture of Godly love and acceptance, where we assist and minister to one another through the struggles of life. We are also working to provide a picture of spiritual maturity, so that we all know what our goal is; and we are seeking to provide quality learning opportunities where teens are encouraged and allowed to experience God in a personal way, to find their spiritual gifts, to practice godly life skills, and to even make some mistakes as they are growing and learning.

It is our hope that we can help you in your spiritual journey

I hope that you will feel free to join us, to see Christ and to be transformed.

Jason's Jargon

My youngest child, Cole is a very active 16 month old. He has recently been exploring his world. This means that he is constantly looking for things to get into- doors that have been left open so that he can bolt, drawers that need to have all the contents scattered around the room, unfinished projects that need to be destroyed, plants that need pruning, puddles to jump in, and especially things to climb. Basically we spend a lot of time at home making sure that Cole can’t hurt himself, or annihilate anything too expensive!

Several days ago I was home with the kids while Lauren was out and I was having a hard time keeping up with all the trouble Cole was getting into. (He was in great form that day.) At one point I noticed that Cole had left the room, and that he was being quiet– this is a combination that usually means something is being damaged– so I went to find Cole. He had climbed onto the kitchen table and was standing in the middle of the table smiling at me. I was mildly annoyed, but also a little proud (he did climb up there all by himself) and so I sighed really big to let him know that this was not a good thing, but instead of understanding my subliminal message he just looked up and sighed back at me in the exact same way.

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a
fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2

“Dearly loved children” . I love that part! I know that God loves me even more that I could ever imagine, and that he wants me to be as close to Him as a son to a father. Cole was simply imitating me because I am his Daddy and that is what kids do– they follow the example of their parents. I hope that our relationship with The Father and The Son is so strong that we can’t help but imitate Them. I want to live a life of love!
