I Like What I See

I like what I see. The last Sunday of the month we get to watch the kids make their way to the front. I have a great seat to scan the audience of nervous parents as they pray that their child will not do anything crazy. Who knows what they might say or what they might do. I guess that is the part I really enjoy. I can see Jesus telling his disciples to chill just a little, and assuring them it will be all right. Then he just plainly says, "Let the children come to me! The kingdom belongs to them." Live life to the full, laugh, love, and leave the worries to your dad. (Happy early Father's Day!)

I like what I see. Last Sunday's lesson on the church at Ephesus showed us a picture of a good church. They had their orthodox down. They knew the truth. They were a hard working church and able to handle adversity without giving up. I see those qualities at University. We love the word of God and we hold fast to His word. We also have so many that work so hard behind the scenes helping us to have a place to call home. Recent examples are our mission team that is in St. Louis. I also want to thank Sharon Strange who was asked to fill in for our media ministry Sunday and enabled us to view the pictures of Ephesus. Thank you for your hard work.

I like what I see. When Jason is in town he has been engaging us in worship with some of the youth songs. Not only is he improving as a song leader, he is also remembering to tell us to sit back down. That is an important and apparently difficult task in leading singing. As we learn some beautiful songs it is important to remember that our children and youth are a special part of the family.

I like what I see. I love - Stuart and our seniors, Jeanette and her widows, our Love Bears crew and our ladies Bible class. These groups are building relationships, doing good things for others, and learning more about the Bible. It is a great thing when a family is united. May our community witness how much we love each other.

Going to heaven together!
