March Madness
I do not know who coined the phrase "March Madness" but I believe they were a genius. The next couple of weeks we are going to watch as 64 teams in 4 regions compete to win the college basketball national championship. There will be upsets, blowouts, game winning shots, and gaming losing misses. Emotions will be high as we go to the "Sweet 16", the "Elite 8", and the "Final 4." One thing is sure - it will be madness.
Have you heard, "What a difference a day makes?" I got one for you, "What a difference one hour makes." I do not know who decided that we needed to spring forward one hour but it didn't help us last Sunday. The best Sunday Service occurs in the Fall when we set our clocks back one hour. People arrive to church happy, refreshed, and a little surprised that they have to go to Bible Class. I called our Senator to add an amendment to the Health Care Bill forcing the world to set their clocks back one hour every Saturday Night. This one change would make church a healthier place.
I love Spring-time. I love azaleas, dogwoods, red buds, and the tulip trees. This is a beautiful time of the year. However, in a week we will be attacked by that yellow powder that will fall like snow. Kleenexes will be sold in bulk and antihistamines will be eaten like candy. This is the season when I search to find my lawnmower. If the search is successful I then must try to start the thing. It is an annual ritual - or madness!
It is time for Caleb's Little League season and Hailey's softball district to begin. It is a time to check the schedules and see when the schedules cooperate and when they have conflict with each other. It is time to see which kid we must vote off the island. Did I tell you Caleb has his Leap Test next week? And they actually planned this date after they have been out of school for a week! Wow! Madness…
Heather is having a birthday next Monday. Hard to believe that she will be 15. Next year I will have an 18 year old and a 16 year old. Help! However I was really ok with fifteen - that is until she asked me when she could start driver's education. I think I am getting a sinus headache!
